The Professional Standards for BC Educators are a set of standards created to ensure that educators are properly certified, and as people in privileged positions, we use that privilege responsibly. This set of standards holds us, as educators, accountable for the safety and wellbeing of our students. These standards allow students, parents, teachers, or any member of the public to be confident that teachers will provide the best professional education to their students in a safe and ethically sound way. Without these standards, there would be no guarantee that students would receive the proper and safe education that they deserve.
